Crafted by the Tiruray people of Mindanao, Philippines, this basket features a square base that transitions to a flared, circular rim. It is constructed from strips of bamboo and nito vine, utilizing the Monom technique, where the bamboo is smoked to achieve its signature black color. The piece displays an aged patina and measures approximately 8 5/8 in. H x 10 3/4 in. W x 10 5/8 in. D. It shows some wear to the surface and weave consistent with age and use, including separation between the base and the body of the basket.
