Early Virginia stoneware storage jar features a robust, ovoid form with two applied lug handles and three decorative incised rings. A stamp on the exterior denotes its four-gallon capacity is surrounded by a toothed border typical of Virginia stoneware. The jar measures approximately 15 in. H x 11 in. in diameter. Condition notes include some minor abrasions to the interior of the lip and the lug handles, as well as a minor glazing imperfection.
