Piece is an excellent example of North Carolina studio pottery by master potter Evan Javan Brown, Sr. (1897–1980), whose work and family lineage are highly celebrated in the Southern folk art community. This classic ring-form jug features a rich, earthy brown glaze and bears an impressed maker’s mark on the reverse. It measures approximately 10 3/8 in. in diameter x 2 in. D and is in good condition.
