Fine example of folk artistry, this wooden articulated puppet is often referred to as a dancing man or lumberjack. It depicts an African American man in dress attire and features a wire on the reverse for controlling his movement. The puppet measures approximately 11 3/8 in. H x 2 3/8 in. W x 15 3/4 in. D. It exhibits some small areas of wood loss, general wear, and loose joints, all consistent with its age.
