Produced by J.E. Stevens of Cromwell, Connecticut, this mechanical bank features a hand-painted figure wearing a red jacket, white pants with blue and red stripes, and a white hat with a yellow band. The mechanism functions by placing a dime or steel ball in the figure's hand; when the rear lever is pressed, the arm moves and the tongue retracts, allowing the item to roll into one of the numbered slots (labeled 5, 7, and 9). The piece displays a worn patina. It measures approximately 8 in. H x 4 in. W x 4 1/4 in. D. Some wear to surface consistent with age and use.
