Anita Meaders Decorated Jar

Description

Piece is a notable example of Southern folk art, continuing the historic legacy of the Georgia-based Meaders family. The jar features a curving form finished in a rich alkaline glaze and is decorated with a landscape scene including a cabin. It includes an incised signature on the base and measures approximately 8 3/4 in. H x 6 1/2 in. in diameter. It is in good condition.
