Description
Three distinct artisanal figures. Two are handcrafted clay sculptures by the award-winning Argentine master artisan Mario Mendoza from San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina. One depicts a musician in a wide-brimmed hat playing a quena flute, while the other features a woman with braided hair and a wide-brimmed hat carrying a woven basket; both are set on round clay bases and are incised "Mario Mendoza Jujuy Argentina" on the bottom. The third piece is a French Provencal santon figure of an old man, crafted from terracotta clay with authentic fabric clothing by Claude Carbonel. He is dressed in a coat worn over his shoulders, a hat, and a floral scarf, with the "Claude Carbonel" stamp on the base. The largest figure measures approximately 7 1/2 in. H x 3 3/8 in. W x 3 3/4 in. D. Good condition with light wear consistent with handling.
