Piece was created at Turn and Burn Pottery in Seagrove, NC, in 1995. It is marked with the initials J.L.M. and includes the inscription John 14:6 accompanied by a ichthys, Jesus fish, symbol. The bowl features a soft creamy glaze and displays a central cat with painted black and white fur, capturing a sense of animated naturalism. The edges of the bowl are elegantly scalloped. It measures approximately 2 1/2 in. H x 9 1/2 in. in diameter and is in good condition.
