We cannot definitively identify this building, which may no longer be extant, but William Ireland's History of Kent records "Aldington in the adjoining parish of Thurnham [was sold to] to William Sheldon, Esq."; there is a memorial to his descendant Richard Sheldon (d. 1736) in the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Thurnham. Richard Sheldon "of Aldington, in Thurnham" was recorded as a Sherriff of Kent in 1717. The most significant building on the Historic England register in Thurnham is Thurnham Court (Early C17 with C19 and C20 alterations and additions), but it does not appear similar. .
