Victoria (Redcar) Harbour, View Looking Southwards of the Proposed Refuge Harbour at Redcar, in Tees Bay'. William Alexander Brooks had been appointed Resident Engineer to the Tees Navigation Company in 1828. He later served as Civil Engineer to the River Tyne Commissioners from 1842 to 1858, overseeing major improvements to navigation, including the construction of jetties. This proposal for a harbour at Redcar was never realised. . Projected by William Alexander Brooks, Civil Engineer. Day & Son, Lithographer to the Queen. Published 1851. Antique lithographic print.
