Description
These remarkable 2-minute and 4-minute celluloid cylinders, produced by the U.S. Phonograph Company of Cleveland, Ohio, between 1908 and 1913, represent a high point in early recorded sound technology. Molded onto a black celluloid sleeve over a sturdy fiber core, these titles—including "The Song That Reaches Irish Hearts," "Meet Me To-Night in Dreamland," "Steamboat Bill," and Collins' "Love It"—boast a durability that far outmatched contemporary wax cylinders. The collection is in highly stable, structurally sound condition overall, showing no visible cracks and only expected, age-appropriate surface grime. . H 4.5", W 12", D 1.9'. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
