A 1962 CA copper 1-cent coin featuring a major mint error identified as a full brockage strike. The obverse features the laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse exhibits a mirrored and incuse impression of the obverse design, a result of the coin being struck by another already-struck cent instead of the reverse die. This error leaves the reverse surface without the standard maple leaf design or date. The coin is secured in a vintage 2x2 cardboard and plastic flip. The holder features several handwritten notations in blue ink including MINT ERROR, 1962 CANADA, 1 cent, UNC, UNIQUE, and 10.00. The reverse of the holder is inscribed with ARPIN 10. Uncirculated. The coin retains significant original mint luster with some localized areas of dark brown toning and oxidation spots. The vintage cardboard holder shows heavy yellowing, minor paper loss, and surface rust on the metal staples.
