This US 1909 Indian Head cent is a Philadelphia mint strike, composed of bronze. The obverse features the Indian Head design, and the reverse displays the Oak Wreath with Shield. This specimen exhibits a woodgrain or woody surface texture on the reverse. The obverse displays significant iridescent toning in shades of violet, gold, and blue. Uncirculated condition. The strike is sharp with full detail in the feathers and the LIBERTY headband. The reverse retains original red-brown mint luster. Small scattered carbon spots are present on both the obverse and reverse. The coin is raw and has not been professionally graded.
