Description
US 1922 Peace silver dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. The obverse features the Liberty head design with a radiate crown, and the reverse shows an eagle perched on a rock clutching an olive branch. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, 1922, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE. This 1922 issue represents the first year of the low-relief design used for the remainder of the series.
Weight: 0.861 ozt (approximately 26.78 grams). Circulated. Design high points, including the hair above Liberty's ear and the eagle's wing feathers, show moderate wear and smoothing. The surfaces exhibit numerous contact marks, small nicks, and fine scratches throughout. Uneven dark grey and golden-brown toning is present on both the obverse and reverse fields.
