Experimentelle Leica Kamera mit 24x24 mm Bildformat, Zentralverschluss und fest eingebautem Leitz Elmar 1:3.5/5 cm Objektiv. Vermutlich steht dieser Prototyp aus der frühen Nachkriegszeit im Zusammenhang mit seinerzeitigen Überlegungen im Hause Leitz, ein preiswertes Einsteigermodell anzubieten. Kamera ohne eingebauten Entfernungsmesser; der reguläre Leitz Aufsteck-Entfernungsmesser HFOOK (dabei) konnte verwendet werden. Mit Prototyp einer passenden Leitz Bereitschaftstasche, innen mit bordeauxrotem Samt ausgekleidet. Die Kamera ist voll kundenfähig dargestellt und in einem äußerst schönen Zustand erhalten. Uns ist kein weiteres Exemplar dieser Ausführung bekannt.

Experimental Leica camera with a 24x24 mm image format, central shutter and a fixed Leitz Elmar 5 cm f/3.5 lens. This prototype, dating from the early post-war period, is thought to be linked to Leitz’s plans at the time to offer an affordable entry-level model. The camera has no built-in rangefinder; the standard Leitz HFOOK clip-on rangefinder (included) could be attached. It comes with a prototype of a matching Leitz carrying case, lined with burgundy velvet on the inside. The camera is presented in a form that is fully ready for the customer and is preserved in an exceptionally fine condition. We are not aware of any other examples of this model.
