This is a very high quality piece of artwork. Beautifully framed under non-glare glass and double-matted, the painting represented in the image is "Descending a Staircase", No. 2, created by the French-American artist Marcel Duchamp in 1912. It is one of the most famous and controversial works of the early 20th-century modern art. The work is considered to be a "Cubo-Futurist" masterpiece, combining the fragmented planes of Cubism with the dynamic depiction of movement found in Futurism. Unlike traditional static, Duchamp used overlapping geometric shapes to suggest the sequential motion of a figure walking down stairs, inspired by early chronophotography.
