19c Chinese scholar agate fingering piece SCHOLAR ON ROCK

Description

Rather unusual 19th century Chinese scholar’s object in a form of a natural chalcedony agate nugget rather realistically resembling a scholar seated on a rocky outcrop. Nice natural detailing including a good imitation of a hair knot on the back of his head. Wonderful fingering piece with beautiful surface texture, feels very pleasant in one’s hand. Guaranteed to be the only object of that shape in the world, looks great on a scholar’s desk. Height 2.28 inches.
