Unusual late Qing Dynasty (1890s to 1911) Chinese scholar’s metal wine pot, its four sides with champleve decoration of scholars in different settings, and bats in flight on the top. The material is paktong - an alloy made of copper, nickel and zinc extensively used in China in 18th and 19th centuries. Differently colored enamels, wonderful crisp work.
