Netsuke of a wasp eating the inside of a rotting pear. Very good depiction of the insect, its eyes are inlaid with dark horn, excellent bumpy skin of the fruit. Very nice staining and patina. Signed on the back KAZUO for the Japanese carver Kazuo Mizutani (born 1932). Length 2.1 inches.
