19th century Japanese lacquered ceramic miniature seal netsuke modeled as shishi - Buddhist lion - sitting on a rectangular base, its head turned to its right. The impression of the seal is shown on the first photo (image is flipped left to right to present the image as it will actually print on paper). Nice modeling, gold lacquer on the shishi figure. Nice patina, left front paw forms an opening for hanging, traces of red seal paste around the base, overall in great condition...
