Description
19x16 no base This vintage-style ceramic Christmas tree is constructed from glazed earthenware with a hollow interior. It features a stylized multi-tiered evergreen form finished in a white iridescent mother-of-pearl overglaze. The tree is decorated with numerous multicolored translucent plastic peg bulbs in shades of red, blue, green, yellow, and purple. Interspersed among the bulbs are several small plastic bird figures, including red cardinals and blue birds. The top of the tree has a circular opening designed for a star topper, and the base is hollow to accommodate a separate electrical light-emitting base, which is not present. This item is characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century hobbyist ceramics, appearing in the style of popular commercial molds from manufacturers such as Atlantic Mold or Arnel's.
