This GORGEOUS cotton red and green calico feathered stars quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with the date "1882" hand embroidered in one corner.
It measures 78" X 78" and is in very good condition, with the occasional light age spot, faint surface dirt, and a few places at the edge of the binding showing signs of wear.
The hand quilting is superb, with close straight line, floral, feathered wreath, and grid designs quilted throughout at an even 10-12 stitches to the inch.
The back is white, the hand stitched binding is the same turkey red used in the interior, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
