I painted Metamorphosis to explore the deep and often difficult process of personal change. The portrait features a close-up view of a face, captured in a moment of intense reflection. I used a very thick impasto style with a palette knife to build up layers of bold, sculptural paint, making the physical texture of the canvas match the emotional weight of the subject.

The vibrant mix of fiery reds, deep purples, and cool blues represents the internal shifts and struggles we go through when we evolve. By blending these strong colors right on the face, I wanted to show the "inner fire" and resilience it takes to grow. This work is about the beauty of transformation, reminding us that change is a powerful, active process that shapes who we are.
