1728 George II Sterling Silver Floral Engraved Footed Salver Presented is a very fine 1728 Georgian sterling silver footed salver. The salver is very old. It has a lovely Chippendale border with high sides. The center of the tray is beautifully engraved with flowers, shells, and scrolls. The salver has two open cartouches which have never been engraved. This is a wonderful example of early English silver from the reign of George II, and would be a fabulous addition to anyone's collection. The salver is marked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for London, and the date letter N for 1728. The condition is excellent. There has been a small solder repair to the salver, near the center, which we have pointed out in the photos. This repair is primarily visible on the underside. The repair is barely visible on the top. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals and no other repairs. The salver measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The weight is 13.53 ounces or 383.5 grams.
