The Lladro porcelain bust titled The Reader, sculpted by Salvador Furio, is a large-scale piece portraying the medieval scholar Don Quixote with finely detailed facial features, a flowing beard, and wide eyes. He's shown gesturing with his right hand while holding an open book adorned with relief-molded text in Catalan. The underside carries the blue factory stamp LLADRO HAND MADE IN SPAIN along with the bellflower logo and DAISA 1991 copyright. It is hand-signed by Salvador Furio and numbered 30 out of a limited edition of 200. A separate mahogany-finished wooden plinth with an inset brass Lladro plaque is included.
