Vintage Stenograph Reporter mechanical shorthand machine, circa 1970s, used by stenographers and court reporters to record speech through a chorded keyboard and paper-tape system. The machine is housed in a fitted Samsonite hard carrying case and includes a folding metal tripod stand, paper roll, 1976 Stenograph Shorthand Machine Instruction Manual and S. Sanford Heller’s Stenotype Finger Technique booklet.

The machine, stand and case show surface wear consistent with age and use. Printed materials show toning and handling wear. Machine has not been tested for operation or completeness.
