The tureen has ornate handles and a matching lid with a decorative finial. The underside bears the impressed "MASON'S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA" mark and a printed crown with "MASON'S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA" and "ASHWORTH BROS HANLEY".
