An obverse of the new King George V was introduced which would run uninterrupted on Australian threepences from 1911 until his death in 1936. This coincided with a slightly modified reverse on which the number of edge denticles were reduced from the 118 on the 1910 Threepence to 115. In would appear that this was not the only change considered as patterns of this date are known with a milled edge.
