Southern folk art jar was crafted by renowned self-taught potters Huey Carlton Wheeler, Jr. and Anne DuPree Wheeler of Dawson, Georgia, and is stamped and dated 2004 on the base. Fashioned from local red Georgia stoneware, the piece features an earthy variation of an alkaline glaze and is encircled by a relief depiction of a stag set among trees and verdant grass. Measuring approximately 8 1/8 in. H x 5 in. in diameter, the jar is in good condition with minor break to stags ear.
