Description
19th-century original etching is by British artist Ebenezer Newman Downard (1829–1894), known for his genre paintings and fine etchings. Titled Romeo and Juliet, the artwork depicts two cats gazing longingly at one another—one perched on a brick wall and the other seated below in a pastoral setting. Housed in a black frame, the piece measures approximately 15 1/8 in. H x 13 1/8 in. W x 7/8 in. D and exhibits some toning (particularly to the mat) consistent with age, along with minimal wear to the frame.
