This heavy manual machine features a cast iron frame with a long, curved lever handle that actuates a vertical, spring-loaded steel plunger mechanism. The base is designed for bench mounting with four pre-drilled holes at the corners. 12.5 inches The left side of the frame is embossed with DEFIANCE BUTTON MACHINE CO. while the right side is marked NEW YORK U.S.A. The front of the base features the embossed model number NO. 1026 and the rear is marked PATENTED. A circular brass identification plate affixed near the lever pivot point is stamped with DEFIANCE BUTTON MACHINE COMPANY, MACHINE NO. 827, NEW YORK N.Y.
