Offered here is an official Apollo 8 First Day Cover, fully signed by the three astronauts of mankind's historic first crewed lunar orbit mission: Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders.
Postmarked in Houston, Texas, May 5, 1969, the cover commemorates the Apollo 8 mission, the groundbreaking December 1968 flight that became the first crewed spacecraft to orbit the Moon and return safely to Earth. The cachet features the official Apollo 8 mission insignia together with the commemorative U.S. postage stamp celebrating the dawn of lunar exploration.
Each astronaut has signed prominently across the front of the cover, creating an outstanding presentation. Fully signed Apollo mission memorabilia remain among the most desirable categories in space exploration collecting, with Apollo 8 representing one of NASA's most historically significant achievements.
Combining official NASA-themed philatelic history with the complete crew's signatures, this piece represents an exceptional artifact of the early Space Age.
