Description
This lot is a one of a kind Bronze Lantaka swivel cannon, dating to about 1800-1820s. These cannons were mainly used throughout South East Asia and were only used at close quarter battles. These cannons fired lead balls, stones, or other debris they saw fit while mounted on ships. While the whole cannon is about 43 3/4", the barrel measures at 35 1/4". The bore diameter of this cannon measures at 1 1/8". Overall this cannon is in fair to good condition. The outside of the cannon is in good condition showing the slightly corroded but beautiful artwork it was manufactured with while the bore is in fair condition showing signs of heavy corrosion and pitting.
