Unique Polaroid Polacolor 20x24 inch, c. 75 x 56 cm, in excellent condition. Former Polaroid Coll. no. "87:2059:01" in pencil on the reverse.
Born in Cologne, the photographer Herbert Döring-Spengler turned increasingly to Polaroid from the1980s onward. His practice is characterized by radical interventions into the instant photographic process, including folding, heating, separating, and manipulating the developing image. Through these interventions, he transformed the Polaroid from a photographic record into a unique hybrid object.

Der in Köln geborene Fotograf Herbert Döring-Spengler wandte sich ab den 1980er Jahren zunehmend der Polaroid-Fotografie zu. Sein Schaffen zeichnet sich durch radikale Eingriffe in den Sofortbildprozess aus, darunter das Falten, Erhitzen, Trennen und Bearbeiten des sich entwickelnden Bildes. Durch diese Eingriffe verwandelte er das Polaroid von einer fotografischen Aufnahme in ein einzigartiges hybrides Objekt.
