An Occupied Japan seven-piece smoking accessory set constructed from gilt metal with champleve enamel decoration. The set consists of a rectangular serving tray, a table lighter, a footed cigarette box, and four individual ashtrays. The decorative motif features a foliate scroll with stylized floral blossoms executed in a palette of cobalt blue, emerald green, and cinnabar red vitreous enamel, with white accents at the corners. The central panel of the tray and the interior wells of the ashtrays exhibit a hand-hammered texture. The rectangular cigarette box is fitted with a cedar wood lining. The underside of the tray features an impressed mark consisting of a stylized rising sun symbol surrounded by the circular text MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN. The undersides of the four ashtrays and the corner of the cigarette box base are also impressed with the mark MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN. Dimensions: tray 5 x 8 in.
