A combination of cold wax medium and marble dust are used with oil paint. The painting continues around the edges and can be hung as is or placed in a floating frame.

Stephen Ciminis work is held in corporate and private collections worldwide. He is a recipient of a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation awarded to artists with established ability. In 2017 he was nominated a Finalist in painting for The Global Art Awards, held at the Armani Hotel Dubai, Burj Khalifa. Ciminis work is featured in the 2016 published book Cold Wax Medium: Techniques, Concepts, andConversations by Jerry McLaughlin and Rebecca Crowell.
