This large rectangular serving tray is constructed of silver plate over a base metal, likely brass or copper. Executed in a Rococo Revival style, the piece features a wide, scalloped rim decorated with high-relief cast scrolling foliage and shell motifs. The two side handles are elaborately pierced with matching foliate and shell designs. The flat interior surface is densely decorated with chased scrolling acanthus leaves and floral patterns, centered around a blank rectangular cartouche intended for a monogram. The tray is supported by four corner feet and a single central support foot, each fitted with protective pads. The underside of the tray is stamped with an eagle symbol, followed by the characters WM ROGERS, a star symbol, and the model number 816.

The tray is in fair overall condition, exhibiting significant tarnishing and surface oxidation across all surfaces. There is extensive wear to the silver plating, referred to as bleeding, which reveals the yellowish base metal along the high points of the relief decoration and on the underside. The central cartouche and underside exhibit numerous fine surface scratches and scuffs from use. One of the underside support pads appears heavily worn and recessed compared to the others.
