Tiny dark speckles scattered over the glaze are inherent firing characteristics.A six?character apocryphal kaishu mark Da Ming Hongzhi Nian Zhi (“Made in the Hongzhi Reign of the Great Ming”) is painted in under?glaze blue within double blue circles on the base. The cobalt blue pigment is vivid, and the characters are neatly arranged.Yellow glaze ranks among the most prestigious monochrome glazes of the Ming?Qing imperial courts, yellow being a colour exclusively reserved for imperial use in antiquity.
