Description
12 1/4 x 12 1/4 in Provenance and Authentication: According to the Letter of Authenticity (LOA) and Certificate of Authenticity (COA) provided by the consignor, this collectible was subjected to a forensic examination. The accompanying documentation states that the signatures were evaluated with reference to multiple characteristics, including ink deposition, material and aging characteristics, stylistic consistency, and historical context. Based on the examination described in these documents, the authentication provider concluded that the findings were consistent with the attributed signatures. The LOA and COA provided by the consignor accompany the lot. A The Beatles Beatles VI LP, bearing signatures attributed to all four members of the group: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The Capitol Records sleeve features the celebrated group photograph, with the four autographs distributed across the upper portion of the cover and around the individual band members. Released by Capitol Records in 1965, Beatles VI belongs to the height of Beatlemania and represents an important North American Beatles album from the group's extraordinary mid-1960s period. The accompanying record bears the Capitol rainbow label with the Beatles VI title and catalog number T-2358 visible. The sleeve provides a particularly natural autograph format: the large pale area immediately above the group portrait offers ample writing space, while the individual members pictured below provide clear visual associations for separately placed signatures. The four visible autographs exhibit differing proportions, letter constructions, writing angles, and degrees of abbreviation. The McCartney signature displays flowing connected movement and lateral extension; the Lennon inscription is comparatively compact and rapidly constructed; the Harrison signature demonstrates elongated cursive movement; and the Starr signature presents a more abbreviated individual structure. These distinctions provide useful characteristics for comparison with documented Beatles autograph material. The cover exhibits visible handling and age, including edge wear, creasing, surface marks, and general signs of use consistent with a vintage record sleeve. Complete sets of all four Beatles signatures represent one of the most desirable categories within twentieth-century music memorabilia. Their appearance together on a period 1965 Beatles album substantially strengthens the historical and visual relationship between the autographs and the object itself, giving the piece considerable appeal to collectors of the Beatles, British rock, and popular-culture memorabilia.
