Description
A US 1967 Kennedy half dollar circulating coin struck in a 40% silver-clad composition. The obverse features a profile of John F. Kennedy with the designer initials GR for Gilroy Roberts readable on the neck truncation. The field is inscribed LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST above the date 1967. The reverse features the Presidential Seal with the designer initials FG for Frank Gasparro readable near the tail feathers. The periphery is inscribed UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR, with E PLURIBUS UNUM on a banner held in the eagle's beak.
Weight: 0.373 troy ounces. The coin is in circulated condition. The obverse shows moderate wear on the high points of the portrait and numerous contact marks and scratches throughout the fields (photo 1). The reverse displays similar wear on the eagle's feathers and shield, with dark toning present in the recessed areas (photo 2). A small patch of green verdigris residue is visible on the reverse field near the eagle's right wing (photo 2).
