Description
One of the most popular Alton Kelley posters of the era! The Memorial announced a three-day run of Grateful Dead shows at the Carousel Ballroom over Memorial Day weekend in 1968. This gripping, colorful design by Alton Kelley illustrates the darkness of military/political conflict. However, this piece is always on the top of everyone's want list!
In the upper margin, where the show dates appear, many copies of this poster have some of the dates blacked out. Although the Carousel was short-lived, it inspired a series of posters & handbills that are amongst the best of the entire genre of 1960s psychedelic concert material.
