This is the Hardcover SPECIAL PRESENTATION EDITION of the ORIGINAL 1987 FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINTING of THE ART OF ROCK by Paul Grushkin! Hardcover leatherette with multi-color label embossed on the cover AND the inside front cover features a bookplate which reads "The Art of Rock...A special limited presentation edition from Abbeville Press." This special edition was primarily given to the artists of the posters featured in The Art of Rock, so there were FAR LESS QUANTITIES PRODUCED of this edition than the standard 1st Printing of the book.  The multi-color lettering on the front cover is extremely unique, which does not appear on the more common non-presentation printings of the book!  

Paul Grushkin was the archivist for Bill Graham Presents. This book is one of the most important resources for the serious poster collector as well as music and art fans alike. It's often referred to as the "Concert Poster Bible". The Art of Rock reproduces more than 1500 posters in full color, plus handbills, tickets, and ephemera from the Family Dog and 'Bill Graham Presents' numbered series. 516 Pages!
