This collaboration points to a mid-20th-century era when American firms often imported superior German optics and movements to serve the western mining industry. The instrument is a study in functional contrast, combining a rugged white-enameled telescope housing with fine brass and silvered adjustment scales. Included with the transit is a magnifying loupe and its original fitted mahogany case (no key present), which still retains its protective interior blocks.
