Gib Singleton was an American sculptor best known for expressive bronze figures rooted in biblical, Western, and Southwestern themes. Born in Missouri, he studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and later developed a highly distinctive style marked by elongated proportions, rough-textured surfaces, and an intense sense of movement and emotion. After settling in Santa Fe, Singleton became especially known for sculptures of cowboys, Native figures, saints, and religious subjects, and his work is held in major public and private collections, including the Vatican Museums.
