David Pearson is a New Mexico sculptor best known for bronze works that combine the human figure, birds, and organic forms with a refined sense of balance and movement. He began working at Shidoni Foundry near Santa Fe as a teenager, where he became closely acquainted with Allan Houser and later worked extensively in bronze casting, mold making, finishing, and patination. Pearson eventually directed foundry operations and collaborated on projects with artists including Terry Allen, Kiki Smith, Bruce Nauman, Luis Jiménez, and Fritz Scholder before developing his own sculptural practice. His work has been placed in numerous public collections and installations throughout the United States.
