Description: An adjustable bar-height stool with a round upholstered seat above an ornate cast-iron tripod base. The fluted screw-post column permits the seat to swivel and change height, while a projecting T-form footrest has a barley-twist shaft and ball terminals. The cast base is ornamented with scrolling foliate relief and stylized feet, retaining an old gold-brown painted finish. The burgundy textured upholstery appears later. A handsome Victorian industrial form suited to bar or worktable use.

Condition
The cast-iron base has extensive rubbing, scratches, oxidation, scattered surface rust, grime, and losses to the gold-brown painted finish. The seat covering is later and exhibits uneven gathering, minor soiling, pulls, and wear. The adjustment and swivel mechanisms were not tested through their full range. Slight movement may be present. Structural integrity and seating suitability should be checked before use.
