Description
[QUACK MEDICAL DEVICE]. Electreat. Circa 1920s. Electrotherapeutic device patented in 1919 by Charles Kent. Sold as a home "electric-massage machine," it used batteries and a small coil to deliver electrical currents through a skin roller or pads to treat pain and sore muscles. Marketed to relieve assorted maladies, including headaches, rheumatism, poor circulation, indigestion, deafness, and more. With pamphlet, booklet, and several implements and attachments.
