Dow (Neal) Autograph letter signed ("Neal Dow")

The letter, to Mr Pichard, on blue paper, reads "I am very much obliged by your kind attention in sending me the information about Mr B. I went to the Depot and found the goods went off this morning, and wrote to Mr Harris by the 4 o'clock train with instructions to ask your advice. i am willing to refer the surveying business to any man you may think suitable. Mr Read, I suppose would not be suitable, as it was his wood in part which was surveyed. I believe some of his awards have been regarded as high. I am sorry you are confined at home by illness, and when I see you, I want to advise you in relation to your complaints", one page, folding marks with occasional splitting next to edges, some discolouration, 4to, Portland, 28 February 1851.
