English Civil War Interest.- Document signed, 1646

Letter addressed to Lord Francis Seymour, First Baron Seymour of Trowbridge, referring to a previous ordinance of the Parliament and the oath "that all and every person of what degree or quality soever, that hath lived or shall live within the King's quarters, or been aiding, assisting or adhering to the forces raised against the Parliament" had to take, adding "it is hereby further ordained that the Commission for keeping the Great Seale of England for the tyme shall have the power and are hereby authorized to tender and administer the said oath unto any peere or wife or widow of any peere...to be by them taken under the penalty by the same ordinance to be inflicted", signed at close by the Earl of Kent ("HKent") and judge Samuel Browne, one page, losses to right-hand side with archival restoration, age-related discolouration, 4to, 15 July 1646.
