Description:
An Orientalist woven textile panel depicting a standing turbaned figure holding a long weapon within an architectural setting. The textile is mounted in a shield-shaped burl-finished wood frame with gilt and polychrome applied foliate and corner ornaments. The compact decorative panel reflects the late 19th- and early 20th-century European taste for romanticized Middle Eastern subjects.

Antique condition with fading, toning, minor surface wear, and possible small pulls to the textile. The frame has scratches, abrasions, finish loss, and wear to the applied decoration. The reverse backing is stained and worn.
